C-C motif chemokine 11 (CCL11) also known as eosinophil chemotactic protein (eotaxin-1) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. CCL11 selectively recruits eosinophils by inducing their chemotaxis, and therefore, is implicated in allergic responses. CCL11 plays an important role in the recruitment of eosinophils into inflammatory sites. CCL11 was detected in explanted porcine alveolar macrophages and a porcine alveolar macrophage cell line.
