O16H59 polyclonal antibody is specific for Swine IgM. It was purified by affinity chromatography on Protein A from tissue culture supernatant. It can be applied for Western Blot (WB); Immunodiffusion(ID) and ELISA. IgM, also known as Immunoglobulin M is the first antibody isotype to appear during evolution, ontogeny and immune responses. IgM not only serves as the first line of host defense against infections but also plays an important role in immune regulation and immunological tolerance. Purified swine IgM was significantly opsonic in contrast to the baseline activity of the Ig mixture, IgG1 and IgG2.
