Fidyah (Ransom) and Hady (Sacrifice)

Secondly: Fidyah for committing a Prohibited Act 1- Fidyah for putting on a fitted garment, covering the head, using perfume, shaving the head and clipping the nails. For this, he can choose one of the following three. a. Fast for three days b. Feed six needy people, giving each of them half a Sa� of rice, or the like. c. Slaughter a sheep Evidence for this is in Allah�s statement: �And do not shave your heads until the Had-y reaches the place of sacrifice. And whosoever of you is ill or has an ailment in his scalp (necessitating shaving), he must pay a Fidyah (ransom) of either observing fast or giving sadaqah or offering a sacrifice.� (Al-Baqarah: 196)
