Odias staying away from Odisha miss Chehena Poda a lot. Because it's not available in the sweetmeat shops elsewhere, as is the case in Odisha. This way of making a sweet delicacy out of pure cheese by using the traditional baking method, is still followed in the state. But what we present here, is a slightly modified method of making it, for the sake of your convenience. Chhenapoda has been heavily promoted by the Odisha Milk Federation to boost milk consumption in the state. It took till the 1980s for it to actually get popularized as the availability of milk was quite low before that. And now we see it being offered to Lord Jagannath during puja. This dessert has come a long way in a very short time.
