The Virtues of As-Salah in Islam 1- As-Salah is a source of light (means of guidance) for the one who performs it. Proofs for The Permissibilty of At-Tayammum 1- Allah says : “ ... and when you don’t find water, then perform at-tayammum with clean earth and rub your faces and hands with it.” (Al-Ma’idah:6) 2- The Prophet ﷺ said: “I have been given five things which have not been given to anyone else before me: Allah made me victorious by causing my enemies to fear me up to a distance of one month’s journey, and the earth has been made for me (and my followers) a place for praying and a means to perform Tayammum (to purify oneself for prayer). Therefore, anyone (of my followers) can pray (anywhere) and at any time that the Salat (prayer) is due.” [ narrated by Al-Bukhari.]

Al-Ghusl

Description of Ghusl The obligation in taking a ghusl is to wash the entire body with water with the intention of purification. This can be done in any manner possible, but emulating the way of the Prophet ﷺ is recommended. This is the way the Prophet ﷺ took a bath, as described by one of the Mothers of the believers, Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her): “The Prophet ﷺ placed water for bathing on the ground and then used a handful of water to rub his right hand over his left hand twice or thrice. He then washed his private parts and then beat his hands on the ground or against the wall twice or thrice. Next, he rinsed out his mouth and nose, and washed his face and arms. After that he poured water over his head and then washed the remainder of his body. Finally, he moved aside and washed his feet. Then she said: “Then I offered him a piece of cloth to wipe his body, but he refused (to take it). He wiped the remaining water off his body using his hands.” [ narrated by Al-Bukhari.]

Merits of Al-Wudu’ 1- A Means of Attaining the Love of Allah: Allah (the exalted) says: “Truly Allah loves those who turn to Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves.” [Baqarah: 222] 2- A Mark of Distinction of the Prophet’s ﷺ nation, on The Day of Judgment: The Prophet ﷺ said: “My nation will come forth on the day of judgment like ‘Ghurrah Muhajjaleen’ (horses with white forelocks and white feet)[ Al-Ghurru: is the white patch on the forehead of the horse. Muhajjaleen: are horses with white feet. At-Tahjeel: White patches on their limbs. This refers to the light on the Day of Judgment that will be on the parts of the body that used to be washed during al-wudu’.] as a result of making Al-wudu’. As-Siwak As-Siwak It is a piece of stick from the Arak tree used to brush the teeth and rid them of food, particles, and odor. The use of Siwak is encouraged at any time of the day. The Prophet ﷺ said: “As-Siwak is purification for the mouth and pleasing (to) the Lord (Allah The Most High)” [ narrated by Ahmad.]. Recommended Acts when Relieving Oneself 1- Staying out of people’s sight while defecating or urinating outside. 2- To say while entering the lavatory: “Bismillah, O Allah, I seek protection in You from wicked male jinn and female jinn.”[ agreed upon.] 3- Entering the lavatory with the left foot first and leaving with the right foot first. 4- To seek Allah’s forgiveness upon exiting the lavatory by saying “Your forgiveness.” [ Narrated by Abu Dawud.]
