At-Talbiyah (statements of assent) Definition of at-Talbiyah At-Talbiyah This is the saying of “Labbayka Lahumma Labbayka, Labayka laa shareeka Laka Labbayka, Innal hamda wan ni’mata Laka walmulka La sharreeka Laka” by a Muhrim, meaning: “I am here at your service, Oh Allah, I am here at your service, You have no partner. Surely all praise and blessings are yours, and also all sovereignty. You have no partner”. This is due to the hadeeth on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar : “Indeed the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah is like that.” [ Agreed upon.] The meaning of “Labbayka Lahuma Labbayka” is a successive response to Allah’s call, time after time. And surely, Talbiyah consists of glorifications and thanks to Allah, and a response to His call, a demonstration of belief in His Oneness, and freedom from associating partners with Him (shirk).

Voluntary charity (alms)

Islamkingdom_ar25 Nov, 2019Religion

Ethics of Voluntary Alms Giving 1- Compulsory ethics a-Purification of intention; one gives charity seeking Allah’s Face alone, not for purposes of showing-off or seeking a reputation with the people of being generous. b-Desisting from reminding (people) of your generosity and from inflicting them with injury; Allah says: “O you who believe! Do not render in vain your sadaqah (charity) by reminders of your generosity or by (inflicting) injury.” (al-Baqarah: 264) 2- Recommended ethics a- It is encouraged for a Muslim to give alms to those he is not obliged to cater for among his relatives who need it e.g. paternal and maternal uncles, a wife giving to her poor husband etc. This is better than giving to people other than them. Allah the Most High says: “To an orphan, near of kin,” (al-Balad: 15), and in a hadith: “Indeed giving alms to the needy is rewarded and to a relative, a double reward is taken – one for giving alms and the other for strengthening the bond of kinship.” [ Source :

Zakat ul fitr

Islamkingdom_ar25 Nov, 2019Religion

The Ruling on Zakat Al-Fitr Zakah al-Fitr is compulsory on every Muslim who owns one Sa’ of food more than he needs for himself and his family for the day and night of the Eid. It is compulsory that the payer of Zakah al-Fitr pays this Zakah on behalf of himself, his wife, and everyone who is under his financial care. It is preferred to even pay it for the foetus in the womb of its mother. Proof for its obligation is what was reported from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that: “The Messenger of Allah ordained Zakah al-Fitr as a Sa’ of dates or a Sa’ of barely, on the slave and free man, male and female, and young and elderly Muslims, and he ordered it to be disbursed before people go out to the (Eid) prayer.” [Agreed upon]

People to whom Zakat is paid and how it is paid

Islamkingdom_ar25 Nov, 2019Religion

Instructions 1- The Zakah payer must investigate to see who are eligible to receive Zakah. It should not be only an annual habit, just giving it to anyone even if the people do not deserve it. The Prophet ﷺ said: “But no rich man or one who is strong and able to earn has a share of it.” [ Source:Abu Dawud] 2- The Zakah payer must strive to find those who rightfully deserve the Zakah and are most in need of it. The more a person shows the characteristics of rightfully deserving Zakah, the more he should receive it; such as a poor relative or a poor seeker of knowledge, and so on.
