Our Vagabond Adventure is a journey into the vast beauty, complexity and diversity of our planet, and the remarkable people and cultures that live there. Itâs a personal pilgrimage. Two intensely curious souls traveling all seven continents â never by jet â one day, one culture, one experience at a time to see what surprises we can find, and share. The planet we inhabit is rich with surprise. Diversity is woven into every aspect of the natural world â its biology, ecosystems, politics, economics, the cosmos itself.

Travel has evolved far beyond sightseeing and quick photo stops. Modern explorers are searching for journeys that feel meaningful—experiences that offer connection, challenge, and discovery rather than surface-level impressions. Whether traveling solo or with a group, people increasingly want stories they can feel proud of, not just destinations they can name.

We’ll soon begin our journey to Buddha’s birthplace, Lumbini and continue across rough road into Chitwan National Park in search of elephants, rhinos and crocodiles. Then, finally, onto the storied city of Kathmandu, gateway to the high Himalayas and Mt Everest. Wanted to come ever since I first heard this Bob Seger song in 1975. “I'm goin’ to Kathmandu! That’s where I’m really going to. If I ever get out of here, I’m going to Kathmandu!” Listen to the song below. It’s great!

Roughly the size of California, Morocco falls in the middle of a list of African countries ranked by size. It packs a remarkable amount of diversity into its borders, much of it due to its history. The land was once part of ancient Carthage, and later became the westernmost province of the Roman Empire. It has been sacked by the Portuguese and Moorish Spain, and, until 1956, was a French protectorate.

Sprawled across the southernmost tip of South America, far away from the cramped and entangled cities of North America, lies Patagonia. It’s a big unspoiled wilderness, an antidote to urban life, and, unless you’ve lost your senses entirely, or your last sliver of curiosity, it will captivate you. Monstrous glaciers, spectacular and unique wildlife (condors to guanaco), towering Andean peaks that run down the region’s spine, and on either side its endless pampas and shimmering lakes.

The morning saw us bouncing with Ismail west out of Merzouga’s dunes and away from the mountains of Bedah which, if I was reading my compass right, lay to the north of the Sahara’s vast sands. Marrakesh was 300 winding miles away. We’d be threading over roads that would buckle the spine of a snake; up and down the ancient rock of the Atlas Mountains, through desert and past cliffs until at last on the other side of it all we’d find the fabled city itself, a white cluster of ancient and newly erected buildings, cheek by jowl, bustling with 210,000 Moroccans.
