To identify the damaged tube, insert a soft wire or pipe cleaner into the point of tube damage and work it toward the honeycomb face. The wire protruding through the honeycomb face identifies the affected tube within the bundle. Once the damaged tube has been located, repairs may be made. Warning! Do not attempt to clear undamaged tubes by inserting a welding rod, wire, or other devices. 2). Ensure that the honeycomb face is clean and dry in the area to be repaired. 3). Use a cotton swab or pipe cleaner, and clean the inside of the tube with alcohol or other appropriate solvents. 4). Insert a piece of fluoropolymer plugging material of the proper diameter about 1/2 inch (13 mm) long into the leaking tube end, allowing approximately 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) protrusion from the honeycomb face. If the plugging material is too thick to enter the honeycomb, stretch the plugging material slightly to reduce its diameter.

High Purity Products are prevalent in semiconductor fabs pharmaceutical plants, and with manufacturers of ultrahigh purity liquids who make or use dilute sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and hydrochloric acid or produce electronics chemicals. Niche fluoropolymer products offer High Purity Products superior corrosion resistance and unmatched purity levels. They are more durable and less brittle than glass, more corrosion resistant than metals, and perfect for applications in which leachables and contamination are a concern. Upon request, Niche High Purity Products offers clean room manufacturing capability for extreme purity applications. *Our unique XXP280 is comparable to the now discontinued phasor X heat exchanger.
Ultra-high purity products exhibit low extractable levels and low reactivity characteristics required in ultra-high purity chemical and water applications. Ultrahigh-purity (UHP) heat exchangers enable fabs and processors to comply with the highest standards of purity. They can be used for heating and cooling ultrapure water, acids, and other corrosive chemicals needed for the manufacture of semiconductor devices, electronics chemicals, and some pharmaceutical products. We have extensive, global experience in Chemical Processing, Surface Finishing, Chlor-Alkali industry, Pickling, and Semiconductor industries which allows us to solve customer?s corrosion and high-purity heat transfer challenges.
A fluoropolymer heat exchanger should always be chemically decontaminated before attempting repairs. Decontamination procedures vary widely based on the chemicals processed. Local safety personnel should approve procedures, and certify the unit is safe for workers to proceed. Do not attempt to clean the outside surface of the bundle by scraping or chipping. Do not use hard abrasive materials. Damage to the fluoropolymer bundle may result.
Corrosion of heat exchangers is extremely costly to chemical processing, metal processing, metal finishing, and other industries. Attack by corrosive fluids causes equipment breakdown, production losses, production contamination, and increased expenditures for maintenance. Reactor Coil Heat Exchangers are made of loose bundles of corrosion-resistant fluoropolymer tubes. To solve the corrosion problem, users are turning in increasing numbers from heat exchangers of metal, graphite, or glass to ones constructed of an inert material unmatched in corrosion resistance.
In the intricate landscape of fluid handling and transfer, where precision and reliability are paramount, PFA tubing emerges as a true champion. Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) tubing, a high-performance fluoropolymer, has revolutionised industries ranging from laboratory research to semiconductor manufacturing. Its exceptional chemical resistance, broad temperature tolerance, and remarkable non-stick properties have propelled it to the forefront of modern engineering solutions. Join us on a journey through the world of PFA tubing as we delve into its unique characteristics, diverse applications, and the advantages as well as future development. Whether you're a seasoned engineer seeking advanced insights or an enthusiast curious about the science behind fluid transport, this guide will illuminate the virtues of PFA tubing and its role in shaping technological innovation.
John Kowalchick, Niche FPP project engineer and the developer of a brand new XXP280 heat exchanger discusses the design specifics, application requirements, and significant benefits of this innovative product. This heat exchanger is the latest technology for heating and cooling, corrosive and ultra-pure chemicals. The XXP280 100 Fluoropolymer construction and rugged design allow precise temperature control in extreme environments where others fail. The unique honeycomb design allows for exceptional heat transfer rates while maintaining a high-pressure capability and compact size.
Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are used mostly in the chemical processing industry for heating, cooling, condensing, and evaporating highly corrosive liquids and gases. Shell and tube heat exchangers are one of the most popular heat exchanger types of heat exchanger because of their flexibility to accommodate a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Unlike conventional shell and tube heat exchangers , Niche products avoid scaling and fouling by using tubing made from essentially chemically inert fluoropolymers. Niche is the original fluoropolymer heat exchangers manufacturer and still the only company that makes FEP and PFA tubing for
