The eagle bird is a common name for various huge birds of prey in the Accipitridae family. An eagle bird is any species in the genera Accipiter or Micronisus. These birds are divided into several genera, some of which are closely related. The bulk of the 60 different eagle bird species are found in Eurasia and Africa. Only 14 species are known to exist outside of this range: two in North America, nine in Central and South America, and three in Australia. Only 14 species of eagle birds may be found outside of Eurasia and Africa. These species may be found in North, Central, and South America, as well as Australia.
