Wire wound resistors

Angela19 Aug, 2022Other

A wirewound resistor is an electrical passive device that limits or restricts current flow in a circuit. Wirewound resistors are constructed using a conductive wire. The conductive wire is then wound around a non-conductive core. The conductive wire can be made of varying alloys and thickness to control the resistance value. Wirewound resistors are typically used in high power and industrial applications such as circuit breakers and fuses.

Designed to protect circuits from sudden transients and meet safety requirements Image of AIllen's fusible through-hole resistorsAIllen offers a complete range of fusible resistors that can be used either as ordinary resistors or as fuses. These resistors are designed to protect circuits from sudden transients and to meet safety requirements. Both wirewound (FAE and FKN) and metal film (FRM) production techniques are available. A customised service is also available to meet specific customer requirements.
