Savethechildren08 May, 2021Society

Some shocking information about child labour - as per the 2011 national census, the total number of children in India, in the age group of 5-14 years, is 259.6 million. Out of these, 10.1 million are employed, either as the ?key worker? or as ?minor worker?. In addition to the children workforce, more than 42.7 million children in India do not attend school. Every day, countless children are forced into child labour because of poverty - illiteracy rates are soaring due to lack of education, unemployment, overpopulation, etc.
