Seeing with New Eyes

The phrase ?seeing with new eyes? comes to me as we approach the month of May, delighting in the height of spring ? this overflowing, verdant time of opening, ripening, flowering; greens that burst on the scene in many shades and shapes; animals singing and frolicking; days longer and warmer, things to feel, smell, sense, walk on and in! There is so much vitality, and invites seeing with new eyes! I am reminded of the inspiration in part from a time when two exchange students visited us, one from Germany, and one from Spain. It was heart opening, and quite startling to see some of our familiar sites through their new eyes: the opening of the leaves of the Copper Beach; the, to me not so appealing, modern exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery; seagulls on our balcony railing; our Stanley Park Sea Wall? and more.
