You have most likely never heard of Saribung Peak and the Damodar Himalayan Range. It is truly an off-the-beaten-track adventure that makes it more alluring and mysterious ? a place where few people travel. This is all the more reason to go and explore this new, wild, untamed, and remote region of Nepal. It?s new, exciting and involves climbing the majestic Saribung Peak (6346m). The trail leading to Saribung is less used due to it not being on the usual trade routes from Tibet. The area is rich in Tibetan culture and is tucked away in the very isolated Upper Mustang region ? beyond Lo Manthang (3840m) and right on the Tibetan border. It is also well known for being part of the ancient trade route that connects China's Tibetan plateau with India in the south. It is also part of the famous ?Silk Road?. The Damodar Kunda lies in an altitude of 4890 meters in this windswept arid region.
