Rohit Sharma asks BCCI for short break relieved of duties from SA series

India and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has requested BCCI to take a break from the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa. The Mumbai-born player has had a worst IPL season this year where he scored just 268 runs at an average of 19.14 and a strike rate of 120.18. This will be also the first time that Sharma hasn?t scored a half-century in the entire IPL season from 2008As reported by InsideSport, Sharma has asked BCCI for a break. The decision to take this break came as the selectors wanted to keep a few senior players in the squad. Similarly, the break would help Sharma to prepare for England tour.
