Odisha: The Land of Myriad Dance Forms
Bengaluru-based Kuchipudi exponent Vyjayanti Kashi offered the most memorable performance of the festival. Her incredibly intense portrayal of the character of Kubje, the ugly woman with a hunchback who was transformed into a beautiful lady by the touch of Krishna for her sheer love and devotion for the Lord, moved hearts. Her teenaged daughter and disciple Prateekshya also won over the audience with her dance of delight, beauty and spontaneity.
