Nabarabi started publication in July 1970 and continued till 1976 December.The chief patron of Nabarabi was Patiram Parija who wanted to see a high quality Odia magazine like the popular ?Desh? in Bengali. He made provision for emoluments for the writers. His son ? Rabindra Kumar Jena ? edited the magazine which was printed at the press owned by noted the novelist Kanduri Charan Das.
