Twenty years ago I wrote a post called My Dance with Pain, about the significant discomfort that I had in my body: where it was, how it felt, how it migrated, what I understood at the time, what I learned? Now I am thrilled to share exciting new information that has radically changed my experience of pain. As I write this post, relieved of that pain (!), what has recently been misunderstood, ignored, repressed, and stigmatized, now seems to be breaking into the mainstream. Pain is not what we have been told it is I highly recommend you read or listen to this episode of The Ezra Klein Show. ?The pain psychologist Rachel Zoffness explains how pain is a ?biopsychosocial phenomenon? ? and how we can better treat it.? Rachel has a new publication out called The Pain Management Workbook, and it?s well worth a look. These insights and tools can be life changing for anyone dealing with ongoing manifestations of pain.
