With a little time to spare before my next big stop, I wandered around some of the historic churches right in the heart of New Bern. First up was Christ Episcopal Church, just across Pollock Street from the Pepsi museum. Its towering gothic-revival-style steeple is hard to miss! Originally built in 1750, the current building is the third-ish version after the first one was rebuilt in 1824 and then again after the second version burned down in 1871.
