Benudhar Raut born in 1925 in the village of Harichandanpur in Keonjhar district. He did his M.A. in Odiya in 1949 from the Utkal University and joined a Government College as lecturer in Odiya. Benudhar has written primarily poetry, but he has also to his credit a number of articles on art and literature which appeared in different periodicals from time to time.
