Avalose Unda, also known as 'Ari Unda' or 'Avalosunda,' is a unique laddoo and a traditional Christmas special sweet from Kerala. Though the literal translation is 'rice balls,' Avalose Unda is made by roasting rice and coconut, sweetened with jaggery, and spiced with dried ginger and cardamom. These ingredients are then shaped into round balls.
