HIV-Associated Lipodystrophy Treatment

Sharvaricmi23 Feb, 2022News

Lipodystrophy, also known as HIV-associated lipodystrophy, is a disease that affects persons who are HIV-positive. This disorder is characterised by a decrease of subcutaneous fat in the face, buttocks, arms, and legs. Despite the fact that the exact origin of HIV-associated lipodystrophy is uncertain, research suggests that it occurs in HIV-positive persons who are taking antiretroviral medicines. Lipodystrophy affects 10 percent to 80 percent of HIV-positive people, according to a study published in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in 2014.
