Blood Clotting Factors are proteins or enzymes that control bleeding

Blood clotting factors are proteins or enzymes that control bleeding. When a lesion or blood artery breaks down, blood clotting, also known as blood coagulation, is a process in which blood is transformed into solid clots. By keeping bacteria and viruses from entering the body, clotting can help prevent mortality from bleeding. The clotting mechanism, known as haemostasis, is controlled by a set of proteins known as blood clotting factors. A deficiency of these factors can induce blood clotting diseases such haemophilia and von Willebrand disease (VWD).
