Seizures often happen when there's a disruption in the regular electrical activity of the brain. Up to 10% of people may experience an unprovoked seizure in their lifetime. Seizures may differ based on the part of the brain that is affected. Although seizure symptoms may last up to 60 seconds, you most likely wouldn't remember the experience. If you witness someone experiencing a seizure, don't put anything in their mouth, do not obstruct them. Instead, help them lie on the floor and wait for the seizure to end.
