Disulfiram-Ethanol Reaction Caused by Hand Sanitizing

According to a new case report, medication for alcohol dependence led to a strange reaction when a man came in contact with hand sanitizer. Disulfiram is used to treat alcohol abuse which usually causes hangover-like effects — including flushing, headache, nausea, vomiting and fast heart rate after immediately consuming alcohol.
