A high white blood cell count is often a sign of infection or inflammation. A low red blood cell count is often a sign of anemia. A high hematocrit level is often a sign of dehydration or polycythemia. A low hemoglobin level is often a sign of anemia. A high MCV is often a sign of vitamin B12 or folate deficiency.
