When flying, the TSA has imposed a limit on the amount of liquid travellers can bring in their carry-on bags. This is called the TSA liquid limit, and it is intended to lessen the possibility of liquid explosives being taken on board. Travellers are permitted to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in their carry-on bag, with each bottle having 3.4 ounces or less and fitting comfortably in the bag. If you do not follow this guideline, TSA personnel may confiscate any liquids that exceed the limit at the security checkpoint. Certain things, such as prescriptions, baby formula, and breast milk, may be carried in higher quantities but must be kept separate.
