While Chahal has been in and out of the side, Kuldeep did not even get to play a game in the first half of the 14th edition of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. Against a side which is struggling with form and consistency, the duo of 'Kul-Cha' would look to regain their confidence and form and make a case for themselves ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year. Prior to the series opener, the two spinners seemed to be in a joyous mood, sharing a fun moment while playing dumb charades. The duo seemed to be in a relaxed state of mind heading into the series against Sri Lanka.
