During the forecast period of 2022-2028, the global private equity market is expected to grow at a moderate rate of 10.2%. The total value of global buyouts reached US$ 1,120 billion in 2021. A private equity fund invests in the equity of not publicly traded companies (venture capital funds) or in the equity of publicly traded companies that it intends to take private (leveraged buyout funds).
