Work Permits for Visitors

Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) holders who are in Canada and want to apply for a work permit can now do so until February 28, 2023. These changes are related to the Government?s efforts to respond to the economic impacts of COVID-19. These Interim Authorizations to work must be supported by a job offer without leaving the country. Visitors to Canada who hold Temporary Resident Visa or are from a visa-exempt country can apply for employer-specific work permits from inside Canada. This policy it also allows eligible visitors to start working before even receiving the work permit.
