The third and last molars in your mouth are called the wisdom teeth. There are four in total such that one in each quadrant. During childhood, the wisdom teeth begin to form as buds. During early adulthood or teen ages, they start to cut through the gum line. In most cases, it is best advised by dentists to remove these wisdom teeth early or even before they cause some problems. Many people don?t have enough room for the wisdom teeth to erupt. This is the main reason why wisdom teeth cause problems. Due to lack of space, these teeth develop sideways or partially through the gums causing infection or pain. Also, located so far back they are hard to clean and hence easily develop decay. They can even cause problems to the teeth adjacent to them.
