Windfall Tax: ExxonMobil Takes EU to Court

ExxonMobil, a prominent US energy company, is suing the EU to force it to get rid of a new tax called a ?windfall tax? on oil companies. A windfall tax is paid by companies that made money from something they didn?t cause. Oil and gas companies are getting a lot more money for their oil and gas, partly because Russia?s invasion of Ukraine has made people worry about supply.
