This is probably a unique property of gypsum plasters which has solved a problem no other material have solved till date. It has been observed that walls coated with multiple plasters of cement runs the probability of getting infected by fungi. However, gypsum is a material which is hundred percent fungus resistant. This makes the walls coated with gypsum plasters highly durable. This is also the reason of civil projects replacing cement with gypsum as the plastering material in constructions at humid, rainy and coastal regions.
