Why is Mt. Manaslu considered a killer mountain?
Like all 8000 meter peaks, there have been fatalities on Manaslu. In 2012, an avalanche killed 11 climbers in Camp 3. Camp 3 has subsequently been relocated to a safer location. Since 2012, there has been an average of one death per year. Despite its nickname, Manaslu is considered to be the best option for climber?s first 8000m peak and training for Everest.
