Why are arranged marriages still preferred over love marriages in Indian society?

In India the most prevalent marriages are arranged marriages, therefore the majority of marriages in India are arranged. When someone other than the couple getting married proposes the marriage, it is referred to as being "arranged" which most cases arranged by the parents with the help of matchmakers, matrimonial sites, or a reliable third party.
