“All you have to do is look at the 400. You had to break 59 seconds to get into the finals of this meet. That’s a great indicator about what’s happening in city track and field,” said Whitney Young Coach Bob Geiger. “As the city continues to improve, winning becomes more important, and it improves the reputation of those who win. Morgan Park is an unbelievable team that always comes together at the end. I didn’t think we were going to beat them honestly. I challenged the girls after the preliminaries on Tuesday that we needed to pick it up today or we’d go home with second place. I’m really proud of the effort.”
