An automotive head-up-display (also known as automotive HUD) is a transparent display that presents information on the vehicle without having drivers to constantly look away from the usual viewpoints. Although the term HUD is not that familiar, it is already a part of the HUD System (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), a set of guidelines for designing and implementing automobile head-ups.
