What is Routing Table in Networking?

A routing table in networking is a data table stored in a router or a networked device that lists the routes to particular network destinations. It contains information about the topology of the network immediately around it. The table includes destination IP addresses, the "next hop" addresses (where the packet should be forwarded next), and metrics that indicate the cost or distance to reach the destination.
