What is In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)?

In vitro fertilization is a type of assistive reproduction technology in which eggs from a woman�s ovaries are fertilized by the sperm. When the egg gets fertilized it is known as an embryo which is either transferred to a woman�s uterus for further growth or can be frozen for future use. If the mother�s uterus is unable to provide an optimum environment for further development of embryo then it can also be implanted in a surrogate mother.
