What is In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF)?

In vitro fertilization is a type of assistive reproduction technology in which eggs from a woman’s ovaries are fertilized by the sperm. When the egg gets fertilized it is known as an embryo which is either transferred to a woman’s uterus for further growth or can be frozen for future use. If the mother’s uterus is unable to provide an optimum environment for further development of embryo then it can also be implanted in a surrogate mother.
