Rann is derived from the Hindi word ran which defines, desert, henceforth, the Rann of Kutch is a deserted area located in one of the biggest deserts of India, the Thar desert in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Statistically mentioning, it ranges around 7505 sq km in size and is referred to as one of the largest salt deserts on this god�s green earth.
