Dependency injection (DI) in .NET Core is a technique for achieving loose coupling between classes and dependencies. Rather than having tight coupling where classes create their dependencies, with DI the dependencies are "injected" into the class from an external source like a container. This allows for flexible compositions of classes and makes them easier to unit test.
