What is an MTHFR turn test? This exam looks for mutations (changes) in a gene called MTHFR. Genes are a elementary units of ancestry upheld down from your mom and father. Everyone has dual MTHFR genes, one hereditary from your mom and one from your father. Mutations can start in one or both MTHFR genes.
