A swimming pool heat pump is a device that heats pool water by extracting heat from the air and transferring it to the water. It works like an air conditioner in reverse. The pump pulls in outside air, which passes over an evaporator coil filled with refrigerant. The refrigerant absorbs the heat and turns into a gas.
