What is a Spectrum Analyzer? What do they Measure?

Avcom Of Virginia Inc.12 May, 2022Business

A spectrum analyzer is a device used to measure and display signal strength. The amplitude of the signal varies by frequency within its spectrum. The frequency is displayed on the X-axis (Horizontal), and the amplitude appears on the Y-axis (Vertical). It looks similar to an oscilloscope. Nowadays, radio frequency signals and wireless communications are found everywhere. Thanks to Wi-Fi, wireless mobile networking and internet device sensors, traditional radio, RADAR, etc. While testing and designing these circuits and systems, it is important to check the entire signal spectrum and other factors like noise, modulated signal, spurious signals, width, etc.
