Most of us grew up hearing that the Grand Canyon was slowly carved by the Colorado River over millions of years. Park signs and schoolbooks repeat the idea like gospel: a little water, over a lot of time shaped this enormous canyon. But what if the opposite is true? What if a lot of water over a much shorter amount of time carved out the Grand Canyon and its even larger cousin in México, Copper Canyon.
