What exactly is the distinction between data profiling and data mining?| Intellipaat

Data mining is the use of quantitative methods (clustering, classifications, neural networks, etc.) to extract knowledge from large amounts of data in the form of patterns, correlations, or anomalies. The obtained results are used to forecast outcomes. Data profiling, according to David Loshin, is the process of analysing raw data in order to characterise the information contained within a dataset. Different statistical and analytical data profiling algorithms aid in gaining insight into the content of the dataset and the qualitative characteristics of those values.
