The Self-Employed Women?s Association (SEWA) is a trade union for self-employed women in India. SEWA was founded in 1972 by Ela Bhatt, and today it has over 1.8 million members. SEWA?s goal is to empower women by providing them with access to education, healthcare, financial services, and other basic needs.
