The ASME B16.5 Tongue & Groove Flanges are made with a raised ring machined into its face in the Stainless Steel Tongue & Groove Flange. A corresponding depression is machined onto the front of the Groove Flange. The faces of these flanges must meet to provide a watertight connection. The inner fluid or gas of the tube or pipe does not come into touch with the self-aligning Alloy 20 Groove & Tongue Flanges.
