Take out your camera and place it on a solid surface or tripod. Set your camera to Shutter Priority mode and a 30-second shutter speed, then point your lens in the direction of the lightning. It's better to keep the ISO as low as possible (but keep an eye on your aperture - you don't want it to get so wide that the scene is out of focus!). Here is a pro tip: Don't wait for lightning to strike before clicking the shutter button; you'll miss it! Instead, hit the shutter button and wait for 30 seconds. If you're lucky, you'll catch a decent bolt while the shutter is open - and if you don't, that's fine too. Just keep pressing the shutter button until you obtain a good shot!
