Based on his performance he was retained by his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. And in the last two games, Malik has shown why experts are counting on him to be the next big thing in Indian cricket. In Match 28 of IPL 2022, being played between Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Umran Malik bowled a four-wicket maiden over and that too in the 20th over. Given the responsibility to wrap things up, Malik obliged and took three wickets in the last over and did not concede a single run.
