Washington Sundar ruled out of England series due to finger injury

Indian cricket team have suffered another major blow ahead of 5-match Test series against England. Off-spinning all-rounder Washington Sundar has notably suffered a finger injury which would make him unavailable for the subsequent series. Recently, it was confirmed that pacer Avesh Khan is also set to miss the upcoming Test series due to a fractured thumb. Both Sundar and Avesh featured in County Select XI side that played against India in the practice match. However, the decision to give some playing time to the duo has backfired for Virat Kohli's side as the injuries suffered during the match has ruled them out of the all-important Test series against England. With Shubman Gill already ruled out, India's squad number in the UK has gone down from 24 to 21.
